The things we think need conserving,
Fragments of history causing death and pain,
It’s these things that are far from deserving,
Preserve them instead in books & parts of the brain,
History shouldn’t be doomed to repeat,
The stories are construed by the victors,
Just like people you wish not to meet,
The losers left on the wayside by the evictors,
We should not live in fear of what hides in the dark,
It’s what’s in the light that causes more concern,
We should focus more on leaving a positive mark,
And moving more than the earth to bury us or the space in an urn.
